Google New Search Console Settings

Google, which enables users to navigate between sites with pleasure by organizing the Internet, has brought the Search Console service, one of the services it publishes for Webmaster Tools, i.e. Site administrators, to a new platform as of March 28, 2019.

From now on, site owners will be able to correct indexing errors related to their websites with the“New Search Console” service, which has improved visualization and functionality.

How will the transition to the new version work?

It all started with this warning post. A few months before Google switched to the new version, it warned site administrators with this warning post. Although no data loss was foreseen, users were redirected to the new platform.

Users were asked to test this new version for both development and debugging purposes. The bugs were fixed and the migration to the new version was completed as of 28.03.2019.

What’s New in the New Search Console?

Google has released an application that we can say“This is it!” after passing the feedback and suggestions from site owners through its unique filter during the development phase of the Search Console service. If we talk about a few new features it added to the main platform,

• Reduced the number of menu items and placed the functions inside pop-up tab-screen objects. In fact, there are only 4 sections and 11 titles in the menu section.
  
• The menu titles are as follows: Preview, Performance, URL control, Scope, Sitemaps, Mobile Usability, AMP, Manual actions, Security Issues, Links and Settings.
  
• While a 3-month traffic can be analyzed in the old version, you can access the traffic of the last 16 months in the new version Search Console.
  
• Flowcharts have made it much easier to identify and fix Google Crawl issues.
  
• The new Search Console is designed to work on tablets and smartphones.
  
• A graphical interface that allows you to compare traffic data from different times side by side is now available.

Old Search Console vs New Search Console

Old Search Console: Search Analytics was available.
New Search Console: Instead, a maximum of 16 months of actionable traffic data is stored.

Old Search Console: Rich Cards
New Search Console: Instead of a detailed debugging module and the ability to request reindexing with just one click.

Old Search Console: Limited backlink data
New Search Console: Provides detailed backlinks, that is, links to your pages from outside or inside, in the form of a report. You can export it as CSV if you want.

Old Search Console: Can be tested without submitting a sitemap.
New Search Console: Only submitted sitemap files can be tested.

In thenew Search Console;
– Multiple Amp mobile content error types and the ability to send a request to index only the corrected Amp page.
– Manually adjustable reporting and review history viewing.
– URL Inspection Tool: This is the most used tool of the new Search Console. Upon your request, you can scan the sub-page content of your site live, check its compliance with the standards and then request indexing.
– Mobile Usability: You can only test the suitability of the mobile page by scanning it and request it to be indexed in the Google Index.
– Error pages: Http error codes such as 404, soft-404, 501, 502, 301 and 302 are detected faster by the New Google Search Console and reported and sent to you as a notification.
– Android applications will not be supported in the new version. These will be tracked by Google Analytics.

In summary, there is no radical change between the old and new generation Search Console. The difference is that the visuality is brought to the forefront, a little faster and functional Seo tools are categorized under menus.

Graphs have been utilized more. Clicking on the graph opens different result pages, just like Google Analytics.
