Google Breadcrumbs Not Support on Mobile Sites

Barry Schwartz shared an announcement about Google breadcrumbs not support on his X account last week. In this announcement, he said that Breadcrumbs are no longer of any value on mobile sites, but they will continue to support them for a while on desktop versions.

He added that the biggest factor in making this important decision was that they wanted URL addresses to appear more cleanly in search results.

The new type of link display in Google Mobile Search Results started on January 23, 2025. Stating that they will only show URL, Title and Description content, Schwartz stated that Breadcrumbs will not work in mobile impressions for now.

Why Google Removed Breadcrumbs?

Contrary to popular belief, the impact of breadcrumbs on the ranking in mobile measurement to date has been very, very small, and for this reason, it seems that they do not want to continue this feature any longer.
