How to Configure GHDSL GDat Modem?

Hello, in this article I will try to explain how to create a Point-to-Point Broadband Network. For this, first of all, 2 Broadband (GDat-GHDSL) Modems are required for each point according to the need. Brands such as Zyxel Prestige or Planet are the most preferred Gdat Modem brands in the market.

Logically, two Gdat modems communicate with each other over a copper line using DSL technology. One of the modems should be in the center, that is, in the network distribution center, and the other should be at the point where you will take your network. It is recommended that both devices are the same brand and the same model. Although different brands and models can harmonize and work with each other, such use is not preferred as it will not be efficient.

First, reset both modems to factory settings. Then connect to the modem with the IP specified in the user manual. It is set as 192.168.1.1 for Zyxel Prestige. When you reach the interface, enter the“WAN Setup” section and select “Server” for the central modem and “Client” for the remote point.

Turn on both modems and wait for the DSL and PPP/Act lamps to come on. After the lamps are lit on both sides, a ping is sent from the remote point to a Router or PC in the center for testing purposes. If the ping is received, the operation is successful and the system is ready to be used.

The distance between Gdat Modems is important for them to work properly. Because as the distance increases, there will be losses in data transfer speed due to the resistance of the wire. For this reason, start by examining the distance-speed chart of the modem you purchased. It may not work for very long distances.
