Netsight Monitoring Application – Installation Notes

With Netsight, you can easily provide Monitoring and Switch Management with high-level performance. If we talk about a few requirements you need to know before installation for Netsight Installation;

How to Manage Switch with Management?

1. Netsihgt license is purchased considering your network capacity and the capacity you think in the future.
2. The server to be installed should never be used for any other purpose. In other words, there should be no Active Directory, IIS, SQL Server or 3rd party software. There should be only netsight and extreme network related applications (such as Netsight Console, OneView, Inventory Manager, NAC Manager, Policy Manager).
3. Windows, Solaris or Linux based software for the server on which you will install Netsight is downloaded from www.extremenetworks.com/download (by becoming a member).
4. Let’s assume that we are installing on Windows 2012 Server.
   By the way, one thing to remember is that no matter which operating system you install, the language must be US (English). Otherwise Netsight will not work. Even on client computers, the Operating system must be in English.
5. Install the latest Java program and Restart.
6. Enter the license number of the downloaded Netsight program and perform the standard installation.
7. After installation, Restart and click on the netsight shortcut on the Windows desktop. In the window that opens, you will see the software included in the license you purchased.
8. When you click on the link that says Console, netsight network manager opens.

When the installation is finished, open the Netsight Console with the password you set during the installation phase of the program. Press the Discover Network button and list all switches on your network. If you cannot see all the switches, turn on the SNMP protocol on the switches you cannot see. You can map your network with Network Topolgy Map. The rest is up to your discovery.
