HP Procurve ROM Reset

If you remember the password on the Hp Procurve switch but need to reduce the settings to the factory settings, connect to the switch from Telnet or Console, enter username-password, then type “config” in the command line and go to the settings line. In the config line, type these two commands respectively

erase flash primary
YES
…….. and so on;

>erase flash secondary
>YES

>erase startup
>YES

your device is as it was the first day out of the box, you can restart it once to reconfigure it and make the necessary adjustments.

However, the most important point to be considered when applying these operations is that you should never even think of running these commands without taking a configuration backup of the switch. Otherwise, the config file and startup software in the ROM may be deleted. Therefore, let’s be a little careful to avoid the worst case scenario.
